It's a four day's journey from Iowa proper if you rest at night to sleep
But it's worth the trip if you have the heart and some tunes from 1933
You should see what's come from that burnt up dirt
It's all grass and shade and trees
And rocks with tunes of jazz and blues and one track harmonies

And he knows all of the music
It's filed from A to Z
In five thousand editions every decade locally
He rattles off the people who wrote down every note
Whoever played an instrument and made it big and broke
My man, no joke

And Marty wore a lawman's badge
Was paid to keep the peace
In 1800s village that may not or may be make believe
And weekends drove himself off cliffs
And stayed up until three
But not these days, he's only drinking tea
Not these days that's over, he drinks tea
